Gemotions

Liam stretched languidly, the morning sun painting stripes across his bare chest as he emerged from the shower. The cool water had washed away the remnants of a restless night, and a sense of calm settled over him. He hummed a tuneless melody as he padded barefoot into the kitchen, the hardwood floor smooth and cool beneath his feet. He brewed himself a strong coffee, the aroma filling the air with a comforting familiarity.

He grabbed his phone, idly scrolling through social media, his gaze landing on a post from a local arts collective. His fingers tightened slightly on his phone. A picture of one of his sculptures. The post mentioned an upcoming exhibition, and credited someone else as the artist.

He closed his eyes for a moment, a barely perceptible tightening in his chest. He took a long, slow sip of his coffee. Then, he chuckled softly and opened the message app. "Well," he thought, "This should be interesting."
